Demolition
Labour-based demolition
We do labour-based demolition on commercial and industrial projects in Calgary and across Alberta. No excavators inside the building. Crews take the interior apart by hand, which is how you get into a mechanical room, a tenant space above grade or a floor that’s still occupied below.
Materials we can handle
Interior
- Drywall and plaster
- Flooring: carpet, tile and hardwood
- Ceilings: T-bar and acoustic tile
- Partition walls
- Fixtures and fittings
Exterior
- Brick and masonry
- Concrete walls, sidewalks and foundations
- Steel framing and roofing
- Wood framing and decks
Specialized
- Asbestos, lead paint and vermiculite
- Confined spaces and occupied or sensitive areas
- Structures that have to come apart in a set sequence
Hand demolition keeps the mess contained and gets more material out in one piece.
Why hand demolition instead of equipment
- Precision. Crews work in tight spaces and around structure that has to stay. Less collateral damage, less patching afterward.
- Safety and compliance. Alberta OHS requirements, site orientation and hazard assessments on every job.
- Less disruption. No heavy equipment inside means far less noise, dust and vibration. That matters on an occupied floor or a downtown site.
- Salvage and recycling. Taking it apart by hand means more material comes out intact and less goes to landfill.
- Cost. No equipment mobilization, no operator, no float. On interior scopes that’s usually the cheaper route.
- Range. From a single retail unit strip-out to an industrial dismantle.
